Transportation Hub

About

We were pleased to be the Main Consultant and Designer in the Transportation Hub (mixed-use complex) covering a total area of 441,000 sqm in the New Administrative Capital.

We carefully considered all the key aspects of the project and the crucial elements to ensure harmony between the different design and engineering disciplines.

With an average of 7,000 direct and 5,000 indirect workers in addition to 120 contractors, we were able to deliver one of our most complicated and challenging projects yet.

We were inspired by Ancient Egyptian architecture in the design to reflect our rich and fascinating history with a modern twist.

Leading the entire site supervision stage, we were able to deliver multi-disciplinary buildings and a one-of-a-kind underground parking that can accommodate up to 730 buses.

Committed to the highest quality, we took into account important factors such as the ease of movement in all bus areas, environmental considerations, energy-efficient systems, and user experiences throughout the entire hub.

Additionally, we carefully designed the complex electromechanical works, especially in the basement and garage areas.

The amenities, such as outdoor parking spaces with a capacity of about 4,025 cars, encourage more visitors to benefit from the diverse facilities.

Lastly, the water consumption technologies for afforestation and landscaping are in line with the latest global trends to achieve the best green visual image, sustainability, and recycling standards.

The project consists of the following:

  • Garage basement with a height of 8 m and a capacity of 730 buses, 2 passenger halls, 3 service buildings for drivers, and 2 tunnels, one pedestrian and one for buses.

  • A rooftop garage for private cars that can accommodate 4,025 cars and includes metal awnings covered with solar panels and equipped with electric car chargers.

  • 4 commercial buildings (consisting of ground and first floors)

  • 2 commercial buildings and motels

  • 7 buildings serving as vertical linkages between the rooftop and the passenger halls

  • Commercial and administrative buildings (consisting of a ground floor and 3 floors)

  • 2.4 km recreational and commercial road.

There are also service buildings to serve citizens: one mosque with a capacity of 450 worshipers, 2 bus repair stations, 1 civil protection building (ambulance, police, fire station), 3 fuel stations (2 gasoline + 1 diesel and gas), and 2 restaurants.
